Mindfulness

If your school has been experiencing issues with children’s concentration skills and behaviour, our Mindfulness programme is the most cost effective way to cover your PPA time – giving you benefits that will affect children’s performance in all areas of the curriculum.

Mindfulness PPA Cover

Mindfuness techniques are used by the world's most successful athletes, business owners and musicians who are under pressure to perform. Our Mindfulness programme encourages children to take increasing responsibility for keeping their mind and body safe and healthy. It helps them to feel positive about themselves and be sensitive towards the feelings of others. It can help them understand and accept the range of their own, and others feelings and emotions. The programme provides opportunities to experience and respond to quiet and still times, closing their eyes and listening or feeling. It can be used to help them develop self-awareness, self-knowledge and confidence, relating to others and working with them.

The objectives of this programme:

  • For children to improve attention and focus skills - isolating focus to just one thing
  • To improve self-regulation
  • To learn to deal with tough emotions and avoid impulse reactions
  • To increase compassion
  • For children to improve life skills such as conflict-resolution skills
  • To promote a Growth Mindset

Why use Primary PPA Cover’s “Mindfulness!” programme?

Practicing mindfulness can improve:

  • Test taking
  • Public speaking
  • Family life
  • Relationships with friends/peers
  • Sports
  • Behaviour in general

We find that mindfulness encourages a shift in children's mentality from INCIDENT > REACTION > REACTION to INCIDENT > MINDFULNESS > RESPONSE which can be rolled out across school during other lessons and also at break and lunch times. Some of our schools even have Mindfulness Ambassadors or Mindfulness Monitors that promote the above mindset and improve behaviour without teachers help!

Rather than setting aside 5 or 10 minutes during a morning to practice mindfulness with children - something that can often be forgotten or missed, our mindfulness experts come into school every week and spend 30 mins- 1 hour with each class, provdiing the consistency and routine that children need and can rely on.

All Schools who use Primary PPA Cover Ltd receive a cheque for £100 for a successful recommendation to another Primary School as we truly value your recommendations.

Reach Business Coaching ae one of our corporate sponsors for our BuildOn project.

Here is why Jas Darar wanted to become a part of our project and what it means to him:

What made you want to get involved in this project?

This is a very worthwhile project as it helps those who haven't had the opportunities that we have been blessed with. Ultimately education is key if we are to progress as a society.

What is your connection with Primary PPA Cover?

I have known the team at Primary PPA Cover for three and a half years when I was Business Coach for Kerry and Stacey. It's been great to see just how much they have developed and how they drive forwards with their passion on a daily basis.

Why is providing children with a solid education important for you?

As I mentioned previously, education is key in all societies. This is the bedrock of our civilisation and allows us to prosper and develop as a species.

Do you have children of your own and if so what do you think they can learn from you being involved in this project?

I have 2 daughters aged 13 and 11. As any parent, I want the best for them, but I am mindful of them understanding just how lucky and privileged they are. I believe that exposure to children less fortunate than them will give them this perspective.

Have you ever travelled to somewhere that is considered a third world country?
Both my parents were born in India and in 2000 I visited their for the first and only time. I was struck by the abject poverty and lack of opportunities people had. I was also humbled by just how much we had in our country that we took for granted.

What has been the best lesson in business that you have learnt so far?
Work on yourself more than anything else. Your skills, beliefs, values, identity and environment. These things make you the person you are. Instead of blaming anyone and everything else, make yourself a better person and things will improve.

Once the school has been built, what life lessons do you think would be valuable to teach children as they start their school journey?

Education is a gift, treasure it. And, your School days are the best days of your life!
