Our Achievements

We always believe in sharing our achievements as a way of sharing best practice amongst our school network

Great Britain’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Primary PPA Cover’s business owners Kerry & Stacey Barsby won Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the Great British Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2017. The award is one of the most prestigious awards in the UK and Stacey and Kerry were very surprised to walk away with the award after 1,500 businesses entered and most of them were household names and renowned businesses. Please see link: https://www.greatbritishentrepreneurawards.com/news/natwest-great-british-entrepreneur-awards-announces-birmingham-winners/

UK’s Best PPA Staff Recruiter

In 2017, we were delighted to be awarded the UK’s best PPA staff recruiter by CV magazine.

Leaders in Educational Recruitment

Also in 2017, we were honoured to receive the “Leaders in Educational Recruitment” award from Acquistion International Ltd.

MFL Curriculum

We have created our own Primary MFL Curriculum that ticks all boxes outlined in the new National Curriculum. Our LinguaLearn© programme has been graded as “Outstanding” every time it has been observed and we are honoured to be the UK’s Leading MFL specialists for primary teaching. The curriculum was certified by UKCCS in 2013 and was transferred into an interactive software in 2017, by investing over £15,000 into the programme. We are currently working towards achieving NCFE accreditation for the programme.

British Gymnastics Certification

We are proud to announce that in 2016, we started to enable children to work towards British Gymnastics badges within their PPA lessons. This has had a phenomenal impact on children’s learning and has also inspired children to pursue gymnastics outside of curriculum time and enter regional and national competitions.

Residential trips to Spain

Any school studying our LinguaLearn© programme is invited to take part in our residential language immersion programme that takes place in San Pedro de Alcántara in Spain. The children stay in the lovely village of San Pedro and attend one of Spain’s leading primary schools for the duration of one week. The programme has been running since 2014 and all schools that have attended have rebooked to attend again. The benefits of the programme include: children’s confidence, independence, Spanish language skills and much more! For more information about the school, please visit www.laudesanpedro.com. See below photographs of UK students at our school in Spain.

Vocab Express

All schools studying our LinguaLearn© programme are invited to compete in the national and global heats of Vocab Express via our organisation. We enter all children and obtain log-ins for them and run the entire competition for your school. We also obtain the certificates for the winners from Vocab Express and provide an engraved trophy to the winning school. See below photographs of trophies and certificates. We are proud to have won Vocab Express in 2017!

Inter-school Song Competition

In 2016, we launched a competition that happens annually for all schools that purchase Music from us. All of our Music Specialists use our School Song Tool Kit to guide children into writing their own school song, including using their musical knowledge to devise lyrics, rhythm, pitch, tone etc. The song is recorded and sent to our HQ by the deadline and the winning school receives a £50 donation to their school!

Salford Business Awards

The Directors of our Company were finalists in Salford Business Awards for their tremendous contribution to primary education.

Young Enterprise UK

The Directors of our Company volunteer with Young Enterprise UK to inspire secondary and college students to set up their own companies and actively run the Company Programme on behalf of Young Enterprise UK.

CPD events

In 2016, we started offering CPD training to primary schools both for their INSET days and also free events for them to join us at a private venue and network with other teachers, ensuring their provisions are up-to-date and the best that they can possibly be.

Happy Friday everyone!

Just a quick ‘Hello’ to share some of the beautiful Christmas themed work the children in our Primary schools have done during their Art PPA cover lessons and French or Spanish PPA cover lessons with our super Specialists!

I officially finish for the Christmas Holidays today and as much as I am excited about my lie in on Monday I’m sad that I won’t get to see all of the other photos we receive of the beautiful Christmas work happening in our schools next week!

To share with you just why our Specialists really are the best PPA cover Specialists in the world…have a browse through some of the photographs below from a variety of our Primary schools across the country!

I also wanted to say a huge thank you to all schools that entered our Company Christmas Card Competition – the competition was higher than ever and the elves here at Primary PPA Cover HQ really struggle to pick and overall winner! Congratulations to the super talented pupils at Hullavington Primary School and Caroline Hudson; their very lovely art PPA cover Specialist, of whom are the winners! The pupils created very intricate mosaic style depictions of the 12 Days of Christmas using snippets of coloured paper, card and other textured materials…I am sure you’ll agree that they have done a super job and we’re all very proud of them here at Primary PPA Cover HQ!

Get a load of Finlay’s winning Christmas card design for our sister Company, ClubsComplete! Finlay is from Griffydam Primary school and is just 5 years old…you would never have guessed with how professional his design is (check out that beard!!). Well done Finlay, you have done an expert job and we can’t wait for our other ClubsComplete schools to receive this in the post next week! www.clubscomplete.co.uk

Right, I’m off to join my team for a Friday Afternoon Tea at one of our local restaurants…yet another reason why Primary PPA Cover is one of the best places to work…ever!

Merry Christmas everyone, make sure you eat lots of chocolates, give lots of presents but most of all chill out and have fun!

Wow! What a busy start to the term we’ve had!

One of my favourite things about working for Primary PPA Cover has to be the Autumn Term and how many new schools we welcome to the Primary PPA Family! This year has been no exception and we thoroughly look forward to supporting the team and pupils in each and every school we have the pleasure of working in.

This term has whizzed by so quickly that I can hardly believe I’m sitting her during the half term holiday having just sent our menu requests off for the Christmas party!! In all the excitement, I’m yet to share some of the fantastic work and progress our super Specialists and pupils have produced this term, so in celebration of European Languages Day I am pleased to share work from St Andrews South Gate Primary School in Enfield and Hullavington CofE Primary School in Gloucestershire!

Do you know why we learn French? Well done to the children at Hullavington!

Get a load of those eyelashes!! Excellent work from the children at St Andrews Southgate!

Muy bien! Super Spanish writing skills from the children at St Andrews Southgate!

Another success we have celebrated this term is that our Directors; Kerry and Stacey Barsby, have been shortlisted as finalists for the national NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards – how exciting! Both Kerry and Stacey had the pleasure of meeting all of the other entrants on 3rd October at the Awards Celebration Evening in Birmingham and they certainly had a brilliant time! Their hard work and determination is just one of the many reasons we have become England’s Best PPA Recruiter and why I am so proud to work for such a progressive and future forward Company. Muy bien Kerry and Stacey!

So, who loves cake? Thought so. We do too and even better we love teaching children how to bake and create the most delicious cakes and sweet treats through our Bake Off style clubs! If you’re fed up of ‘Soggy Bottoms’ or dream that your pupils will one day produce an ‘even bake’ Paul Hollywood would be proud of then have no fear, our sister Company ClubsComplete are here! This term enquires for our Bake Off Club have been hot out the oven and we are so pleased to inspire children on a National basis to taste, experiment and explore cooking and baking following a Bake Off Style format, whilst at the same time, supporting your current Food Provision to meet Ofsted’s standards as part of the new Common Inspection Framework. Piece of cake! www.clubscomplete.co.uk

Bake Off Castle.jpg

The showstopper created by the Star Bakers from Long Whatton Primary School’s Bake Off Club! Yummy!

In celebration this term also were several of our super clever schools and children that made it on to the Championship Leader Board in the Vocab Express International competition! Every year, several of our schools that we support with MFL PPA cover enter the online competition and this year Holy Family Catholic Primary School in Coventry came 2nd in the world with a further two of our schools making it into the top 20! What an incredible achievement!! One of the many reasons we are so proud to be England’s best PPA Cover providers for Nurseries and Primary Schools!
