Primary PPA Cover have recently been awarded Best Primary School Teacher Cover Specialists 2020 for the UK.

Great Britain’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Primary PPA Cover’s business owners Kerry & Stacey won Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the Great British Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2017. The award is one of the most prestigious awards in the UK and Stacey and Kerry were very surprised to walk away with the award after 1,500 businesses entered and most of them were household names and renowned businesses. UK’s Best PPA Staff Recruiter

In 2017, we were delighted to be awarded the UK’s best PPA staff recruiter by CV magazine.

Leaders in Educational Recruitment

Also in 2017, we were honoured to receive the “Leaders in Educational Recruitment” award from Acquistion International Ltd.

MFL Curriculum

We have created our own Primary MFL Curriculum that ticks all boxes outlined in the new National Curriculum. Our LinguaLearn© programme has been graded as “Outstanding” every time it has been observed and we are honoured to be the UK’s Leading MFL specialists for primary teaching. The curriculum was certified by UKCCS in 2013 and was transferred into an interactive software in 2017, by investing over £15,000 into the programme. We are currently working towards achieving NCFE accreditation for the programme.

British Gymnastics Certification

We are proud to announce that in 2016, we started to enable children to work towards British Gymnastics badges within their PPA lessons. This has had a phenomenal impact on children’s learning and has also inspired children to pursue gymnastics outside of curriculum time and enter regional and national competitions.

Residential trips to Spain

Any school studying our LinguaLearn© programme is invited to take part in our residential language immersion programme that takes place in San Pedro de Alcántara in Spain. The children stay in the lovely village of San Pedro and attend one of Spain’s leading primary schools for the duration of one week. The programme has been running since 2014 and all schools that have attended have rebooked to attend again. The benefits of the programme include: children’s confidence, independence, Spanish language skills and much more! For more information about the school, please visit www.laudesanpedro.com. See below photographs of UK students at our school in Spain.

Vocab Express

All schools studying our LinguaLearn© programme are invited to compete in the national and global heats of Vocab Express via our organisation. We enter all children and obtain log-ins for them and run the entire competition for your school. We also obtain the certificates for the winners from Vocab Express and provide an engraved trophy to the winning school. See below photographs of trophies and certificates. We are proud to have won Vocab Express in 2017!

Inter-school Song Competition

In 2016, we launched a competition that happens annually for all schools that purchase Music from us. All of our Music Specialists use our School Song Tool Kit to guide children into writing their own school song, including using their musical knowledge to devise lyrics, rhythm, pitch, tone etc. The song is recorded and sent to our HQ by the deadline and the winning school receives a £50 donation to their school!

Salford Business Awards

The Directors of our Company were finalists in Salford Business Awards for their tremendous contribution to primary education.

Young Enterprise UK

The Directors of our Company volunteer with Young Enterprise UK to inspire secondary and college students to set up their own companies and actively run the Company Programme on behalf of Young Enterprise UK.

CPD events

In 2016, we started offering CPD training to primary schools both for their INSET days and also free events for them to join us at a private venue and network with other teachers, ensuring their provisions are up-to-date and the best that they can possibly be.

Monday, July 06, 2020

2020 has seen unprecedented times that we, as a company, never thought we would find ourselves in. We would like to express our gratitude to our:

  • Amazing clients

Working in the public sector can be very challenging at times and we understand that for schools, it is difficult to appreciate the way that our business works. Thanks to the support of our schools and the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, we managed to waive over £300,000 of invoices to schools. This left us in a very difficult situation as we still have our HQ premises mortgage, bills to cover and suppliers that unfortunately have had to charge us regardless of the situation. We have lost approximately 10 schools for 2020-2021 due to COVID-19 and the budget cuts their schools have faced. We are very hopeful that these schools will return to us once they are open in September and have received funding support from the government.

  • Wonderful staff

Given one days notice that all schools in the UK would close, our staff had to frantically cancel over 90 PPA sessions daily, indefinitely. Throughout the peak of the crisis, we have had to work night and day to ensure the decisions we were making were going to have a minimal impact on our regular services once schools resumed. Our staff have taken the time to organise their work, to write new lesson plans for children and new schemes of work and we couldn’t be more grateful of their support. This truly shows their passion for the education sector and above all their love for children and learning!

  • Suppliers

To those suppliers who have been flexible with us during these unprecedented times, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Tsunami Computers Leicester, Lex AutoLease, WaterPlus and many more have allowed us to pause or reduce our monthly payments whilst we have received no income. This has made the difference between us surviving and not surviving the crisis.

Going forwards, we will be rebuilding our business back up to where we were and support from schools in outsourcing their PPA to us to help us rebuild is greatly appreciated. We understand PPA time is a legal requirement for all teachers and the majority of the subjects that we cover are compulsory so if you are struggling to cover PPA time, would like to explore a new method of covering a compulsory subject such as MFL or ICT, please allow us to provide your school with a FREE trial and show you why you should choose us and support our small business.

We would like to send our well wishes to all small businesses both who have survived the crisis and who unfortunately have closed their doors. If you have managed to survive like us, please dig deep and find that energy to push forwards once more to rebuild your business rather than give up. The UK needs small businesses and even more so now with unemployment on the rise. It will be worth it, we promise!
